Pet Health-Pet’s first aid kit

Pet health is something that everyone needs to know because everyone have own pets at home. Health insurance is something that everyone needs today. The rising cost of visiting a vet stay makes it imperative that every pet have some type of health care coverage. For reduce the cost, every home need pet’s first aid kit.

People have them so why not for your pets like cats, dogs, birds and other else. Some times your pet can get into a fight or maybe stung by a bee and needs some quick first aid. Your vet might not be open, especially after hours. In small towns often there's only one or two vets so knowing how to take care of your pets until you can get them to the vet is very important. You might want to make one for your car if you take your pets (cats, dogs) for walks. It's a good idea to be prepared.

Most of the items in your pet’s first aid kit are similar to those you have in your regular one for the family. There is however some things that needs to be specialized for your pets. In fact if you haven't already done so this might be a good time to make one up for both you and your pets. This will probably make you do it as we always want to care for our pets even if we let things for ourselves go.

Pet Health- Things that include in your pet’s first aid kit

This is the things that should be in your pets first aid kit. The things are: cotton balls, Gauze pads, talpha pads so it won't stick to their hair Roll of absorbent cotton Small scissors Tweezers -- A common injury is a bee sting. Get the stinger out before you put anything on it. Hydrogen peroxide Tape Hydrogen peroxide sterile eyewash solution made specifically for pets Instant ice pack Bulb syringe for suctioning mucous from mouth or nose Small flashlight

Keep everything in a plastic case with a tight lid. That will keep it dry and everything all together so you won't have to run all over trying to find something. Also keep the number for the vet in there especially for the one you keep in the car. If there's an emergency animal hospital you should include that number as you will not want to try to find the number especially if the injury is serious. You won't want to take the time.

If the injury is serious and your pet (dog) is fighting you it is a good idea to restrain them so include a bath towel for that purpose in your car kit. It's better than having your scared, excited dog bite you. Wash the wounds prior to applying any bandages so it is kept sterile and eliminate any infections. Apply a sauve on the area which you can obtain from a pet supply or your vet.

Talk to your pet the whole time you are doing anything. They will be scared and probably won't act like they usually do so be careful and above all take your time. If your pet sees you rushing around this can be very upsetting to them. So, be calm and take care.

Most pet supply stores now allow you to bring your pet in the store to try out products before you buy them and may have to return them. If you have pet supplies from a pet that is no longer with you, there are sites that take the supplies as donations for other needy pets.
